About AnimalForum
What AnimalForum is
AnimalForum is a worldwide animal news aggregator. It brings together reports about pets, wild mammals, birds, ocean life, reptiles and amphibians, insects and pollinators, habitats and conservation, taken from official agencies and newsrooms around the world, and presents them in one place, in several languages.
Where the stories come from
Every story names its source, shows the date the source published it and links to the original report. Some stories are republished in full because the source allows it: texts from U.S. government agencies, for example, are in the public domain, and others carry open licenses such as Creative Commons. Those stories show the license. For every other source we write our own story from the facts in the report; we never copy the text of another outlet.
How we use AI
We use artificial intelligence to write the stories that are not republished under an open license, and to translate every story into the other languages of the site. AI makes mistakes, so each story keeps the link to the original report: if you need to rely on a fact, read it there. When a translation and the original disagree, the original is right.
What we do not do
We do not confirm the facts in the reports we cover, and we do not give veterinary advice. If you are worried about an animal, call a veterinarian.
Pictures
Pictures are shown straight from the website of the source, with credit, and belong to their owners. A story or a picture is removed as soon as its owner asks.
